A bit of R&R...

We returned tonight from a weekend away skiing at one of the many excellent resorts we have in this part of the country, Cardrona. What a fantastic place.. and only 3.5 hours away from Dunedin! I'll post a photo or two later on for the North Islanders to have a look at.
We got to chat with people from many different countries while on the chairlift, Australia, England, Wales, Argentina, South Africa to name just a few. All were here either working/touring or just touring the country. All mentioned that the South Island is the best part of the country and that New Zealand is a far nicer place to be than anywhere else in the world - and without any prompting! Knockers take note...

Its so important to clear the head with outside activities when working in the area I do and I can think of no better way of doing it than on a ski-field in the superb Southern Alps. The head is clear, now all I need to do is get the aches out of the body.... :-)

Who are these 'knockers' Garry? New Zealand is a beautiful place - and we've only ventured in the North. Very much looking forward to our South Island trip in December.

Went skiing recently at Mt Ruapehu which was stunning - muscles have almost recovered!

Good luck with your blog :)

Hmm, I'm keen to go now. I had heard the cover was not so great - but your post reminds me that that doesn't matter so much. Its beautiful either way.

btw, the link to the course blog seems to be wrong. It is going to MIT.. should be to http://online-learning-communities.blogspot.com

I've had many comments made to me from people from overseas that a lot of Kiwis tend to run down our country... seems to be something of a national pastime for some Yvonne. Visitors here find it hard to understand - they think this place is superb.
I've never skied Mt Ruapehu but I've heard how good it can be and I can relate to the aches! Far too well really...

Thanks for the tip Leigh. The snow was a bit thin on a couple of short tracks but very good otherwise, well worth a trip ;)

I won a radio competition a couple of weeks ago which was a day learning to snow boarding. Suffice to say, I spent most of the day at the cafe, watching the day go by!
